The SaunaLife G3B is a four person outdoor sauna pod kit. Its arched roof has black shingles and covers a recessed front terrace with a bench on each side. The terrace also gives you a dry place to stack firewood if you use a wood stove. This B version includes black exterior sauna paint that you brush on yourself. Allow for an outdoor footprint of 95.3 inches wide by 86.6 inches deep. Inside, the aspen benches and backrest are free of knots. FAQ
What does the B in the model name mean, and do I have to paint it myself?
B means the SaunaLife G3B comes with two containers of PROSAUNAS SaunaShield black exterior sauna paint, and yes, you brush it on yourself after assembly. Follow the paint manual on the Manual tab and apply it only outside, never inside the hot room. The paint expands and contracts with the weather and will need a fresh coat over the years to stay black.
Does this sauna come with a heater?
No, a heater is not included. The Select Heater add on on this page offers five electric heater packages from 9 to 13 kW, each with controls and stones, which you can choose when ordering or buy later. For a colder climate, choose a higher kW option from the list.
What electrical work does it need?
Your property and heater choice determine the work, so have a licensed electrician install a dedicated, hardwired 240 volt circuit using the heater's manual to size the breaker and wiring. These heaters cannot plug in, share a dryer, hot tub, or EV circuit, or use extension cords. Outdoor runs need buried conduit and a weatherproof disconnect, and the LED power unit mounts outside the hot room in a weatherproof box you provide.
What do I put under it? Can it sit on grass or on my deck?
No to bare grass or soil, and a deck is an option only if it is built to carry the weight, so suitability depends on your property. Use a firm, flat, level base of compacted gravel topped with pavers, a concrete slab, or a suitable deck, with the shipping weight listed in the Specifications tab. Grass and soil hold moisture against the wood, while an uneven base can keep staves from lining up and the door from latching.
How long does it take to assemble, and how many people do I need?
Two people and about two days is SaunaLife's rating for cabin kit assembly, though first timers often take longer. The pieces are numbered, and the instructions are on the Manual tab. Plan for the electrician's visit on a separate day.
Can it stay outside all winter?
Yes, it is built for year round outdoor use. In freezing weather, heating often takes 45 to 90 minutes instead of 30 to 45 minutes. Keep the vents clear.
How is it delivered?
It arrives by freight truck on a wooden pallet by appointment, and the driver only delivers. The pallet is too long for a lift gate, so arrange piece by piece hand unloading or a forklift for LTL delivery, or a forklift or crane for flatbed delivery. Inspect it before signing and note any damage on the receipt.
What is thermo spruce, and how do I look after the outside?
Thermo spruce is Nordic spruce heat treated in a kiln with steam, helping it absorb less moisture, move less with the weather, and last up to twice as long as cedar outdoors. It has no resin and a mild toasted smell, and bare wood turns silver gray as a cosmetic change. On this model, the black paint is the exterior finish, so refresh it over the years to keep the outside black.
Do I need a permit or HOA approval?
It depends on your local rules and HOA, so check before ordering. The dedicated 240 volt circuit almost always needs an electrical permit, and towns that exempt small accessory buildings from building permits may still require setbacks. Your HOA may have separate approval requirements.

We recently purchased the Dundalk Leisurecraft Georgian sauna, and overall, we’ve been really happy with it! While the DIY build sounded intimidating at first, the process actually went pretty smoothly. The instructions it came with had one slight difference from the online video, which delayed finishing the roof shingles, but Maya helped us figure it out quickly. The main build only took us two days.
Im glad we went with the wood-burning stove, as it adds an authentic touch that you just don’t get with the electric units. The Huum stove we chose, heats the space efficiently and creates the traditional sauna experience we were looking for.

We purchased the 3-person sauna for our outdoor garden. We chose the cube sauna for the aesthetic and could not be happier.
I assembled by myself except for the 2 large panels (requires a few people). Instructions were good - took me two partial Saturdays to complete and a few hours to unpack and organize in advance of assembly. Had my elec. add a NEMA enclosure on the back for the controller and power for lights and a 2nd panel for the wireless control.

Smoking Hot Tub!
I got the Norse Steam SaunaLife wood-fired hot tub, the S4N model, and its been seriously great. It heats up quicker than I expected, usually around an hour and a half, and once its hot, it stays that way for a good long while. The wood-fired system is simple to use, and honestly kind of fun.
The tub itself feels solid and well put together. The thermo-spruce exterior looks beautiful in person, and the fiberglass interior is smooth, deep, and easy to clean. Its the kind of setup that just works without a bunch of fuss, which I really appreciate.
Also, the team at Norse Steam was genuinely great to work with. Super helpful, quick to respond, and made the process really easy from start to finish. It felt like they actually cared that I was happy with it. The tub has totally become a go-to way to unwind, and I wouldnt change a thing.

Great Experience
After a lot of research I made a decision to go with a Sauna from Golden Designs. It has only been in place for a week but so far two thumbs up. Great sauna and great customer service
We purchased the Finnmark SD-1 sauna. Maya was extremely helpful with the purchase. We had an issue with the sauna not reaching the maximum temperature, and Maya connected us with the appropriate technician that explained how to correct the issue. The sauna now heats to the maximum temperature (170 degrees) in less than an hour, and it is a great unit. We are very happy with it, and we would definitely purchase from NorseSteam if we needed any other items.
