FAQ
What does the B in the model name mean, and do I have to paint it myself?
B means the SaunaLife GL4B includes two containers of black exterior paint, and yes, you brush it on yourself after assembly. Follow the paint instructions on the Manual tab and use it only outside, never inside the hot room. The paint expands and contracts with the weather and will need fresh coats over the years to stay black.
Does this sauna come with a heater?
No, the heater is sold separately. The Select Heater add on on this page offers six electric packages from 6 to 9 kW, each with controls and stones. Pick one when ordering or buy one later, choosing a higher kW option for a colder climate.
What electrical work does it need?
It needs a dedicated 240 volt circuit hardwired by a licensed electrician, with breaker and wire sizing based on your property and the chosen heater's manual. No package plugs in or allows extension cords or a shared dryer, hot tub, or EV circuit. Outdoor runs need buried conduit and a weatherproof disconnect, and the LED power unit needs a weatherproof box you provide outside the hot room.
What do I put under it? Can it sit on grass or on my deck?
Use a firm, flat, level base such as compacted gravel topped with pavers or a concrete slab. A deck may work if it is built to carry the 1,650 pound sauna, so its suitability depends on your deck's construction. Never use bare grass or soil, which holds moisture against the wood, and keep the base level so the pieces align and the door latches.
How long does it take to assemble, and how many people do I need?
Two people need about two days, according to SaunaLife's assembly estimate. The pieces are numbered, and the instructions are on the Manual tab. First timers often take longer, and the electrician's visit takes a separate day.
Can it stay outside all winter?
Yes, it is built for year round outdoor use. In freezing weather, heating often takes 45 to 90 minutes instead of 30 to 45 minutes, and the glass front loses a little more heat in deep cold. Keep the vents clear.
How is it delivered?
It arrives by freight truck on a wooden pallet, with curbside delivery by appointment. The driver lowers the pallet to the ground, so arrange two or three people to carry the pieces to your assembly spot. Inspect the crate before signing and note any damage on the receipt.
What is thermo spruce, and how do I look after the outside?
Thermo spruce is Nordic spruce treated in a kiln with heat and steam, helping it absorb less moisture, move less with the weather, and last up to twice as long as cedar outdoors. It has no resin and a mild toasted smell, and bare wood turns silver gray without affecting its function. This model uses black paint as its exterior finish, which needs fresh coats over the years to stay black.
Do I need a permit or HOA approval?
It depends on your local rules and HOA. The dedicated 240 volt circuit almost always needs an electrical permit, and even towns that exempt small accessory buildings from building permits still apply setback rules. Check with your local permitting office and HOA before ordering.

We recently purchased the Dundalk Leisurecraft Georgian sauna, and overall, we’ve been really happy with it! While the DIY build sounded intimidating at first, the process actually went pretty smoothly. The instructions it came with had one slight difference from the online video, which delayed finishing the roof shingles, but Maya helped us figure it out quickly. The main build only took us two days.
Im glad we went with the wood-burning stove, as it adds an authentic touch that you just don’t get with the electric units. The Huum stove we chose, heats the space efficiently and creates the traditional sauna experience we were looking for.

We purchased the 3-person sauna for our outdoor garden. We chose the cube sauna for the aesthetic and could not be happier.
I assembled by myself except for the 2 large panels (requires a few people). Instructions were good - took me two partial Saturdays to complete and a few hours to unpack and organize in advance of assembly. Had my elec. add a NEMA enclosure on the back for the controller and power for lights and a 2nd panel for the wireless control.

Smoking Hot Tub!
I got the Norse Steam SaunaLife wood-fired hot tub, the S4N model, and its been seriously great. It heats up quicker than I expected, usually around an hour and a half, and once its hot, it stays that way for a good long while. The wood-fired system is simple to use, and honestly kind of fun.
The tub itself feels solid and well put together. The thermo-spruce exterior looks beautiful in person, and the fiberglass interior is smooth, deep, and easy to clean. Its the kind of setup that just works without a bunch of fuss, which I really appreciate.
Also, the team at Norse Steam was genuinely great to work with. Super helpful, quick to respond, and made the process really easy from start to finish. It felt like they actually cared that I was happy with it. The tub has totally become a go-to way to unwind, and I wouldnt change a thing.

Great Experience
After a lot of research I made a decision to go with a Sauna from Golden Designs. It has only been in place for a week but so far two thumbs up. Great sauna and great customer service
We purchased the Finnmark SD-1 sauna. Maya was extremely helpful with the purchase. We had an issue with the sauna not reaching the maximum temperature, and Maya connected us with the appropriate technician that explained how to correct the issue. The sauna now heats to the maximum temperature (170 degrees) in less than an hour, and it is a great unit. We are very happy with it, and we would definitely purchase from NorseSteam if we needed any other items.
