The SaunaLife E8WB is a six person outdoor barrel sauna kit. A wide half moon window in the back wall lets in daylight and gives you a view outside. The B version includes black exterior sauna paint that you brush on yourself. The barrel measures 81 inches wide outside, so allow for that when choosing its place in your yard. FAQ
What does the B in the model name mean, and do I have to paint it myself?
The B means the SaunaLife E8WB includes two containers of PROSAUNAS SaunaShield black exterior sauna paint, and yes, you brush it on yourself after assembly. Follow the paint manual in the Manual tab and apply it only outside, never inside the hot room. The paint expands and contracts with the weather and will need a fresh coat over the years to stay black.
Does this barrel come with a heater?
No, a heater is not included. The heater selector on this page offers five electric packages from 8 to 10.5 kW, each with controls and stones, which you can add when ordering or buy later. In a colder climate, choose a higher kW option from the list.
What electrical work does it need?
It depends on your property and heater choice, but every package needs a licensed electrician to hardwire its own dedicated 240 volt circuit, with breaker and wire sizing taken from that heater's manual. These heaters cannot plug in, share a dryer, hot tub, or EV circuit, or use extension cords. Have your electrician plan buried conduit and a weatherproof disconnect for outdoor runs, plus a weatherproof box you provide for the LED power unit outside the hot room.
Will my feet be cold on the bench?
Your feet will be in cooler air than your shoulders because this barrel has one bench level. Its 77.2 inch interior diameter and intake and exhaust vents help address that temperature difference. A slightly larger heater package can narrow the gap further.
Will it leak in the rain?
The included black shingle roof and drip edge rail protect against rain seeping through the stave seams. Two floor drains let water escape, and small gaps that appear between staves in dry weather close when the room heats.
Do I have to tighten the bands, and are gaps between the staves normal?
Yes, retighten the stainless steel bands after the first few weeks and check them each season. Hairline gaps are normal as the wood shrinks in dry or cold air and swells again when heated, so do not caulk them. Two spare staves come in the kit.
What do I put under it?
The right base depends on your property, but it must be firm, flat, and level: compacted gravel topped with pavers, a concrete slab, or a deck built to carry the weight. The sauna weighs 1,370 pounds, and the shipping weight is listed in the Specifications tab. Never place it on bare grass or soil, which holds moisture against the wood, and keep it level so the staves line up and the door latches.
How long does assembly take?
About one day with two people is SaunaLife's estimate for assembling the cradles, staves, bands, door, and shingle roof. First-time builders often take longer. Plan the electrician's visit for a separate day.
Can it stay outside all winter?
Yes, it is built for year-round outdoor use. In freezing weather, heating often takes 45 to 90 minutes instead of 30 to 45 minutes. Keep the vents clear.
How is it delivered?
It arrives by freight truck on a wooden pallet, with curbside delivery by appointment. The driver lowers the pallet to the ground, so have two or three people ready to carry the pieces to your assembly spot. Inspect the crate before signing and note any damage on the receipt.

We recently purchased the Dundalk Leisurecraft Georgian sauna, and overall, we’ve been really happy with it! While the DIY build sounded intimidating at first, the process actually went pretty smoothly. The instructions it came with had one slight difference from the online video, which delayed finishing the roof shingles, but Maya helped us figure it out quickly. The main build only took us two days.
Im glad we went with the wood-burning stove, as it adds an authentic touch that you just don’t get with the electric units. The Huum stove we chose, heats the space efficiently and creates the traditional sauna experience we were looking for.

We purchased the 3-person sauna for our outdoor garden. We chose the cube sauna for the aesthetic and could not be happier.
I assembled by myself except for the 2 large panels (requires a few people). Instructions were good - took me two partial Saturdays to complete and a few hours to unpack and organize in advance of assembly. Had my elec. add a NEMA enclosure on the back for the controller and power for lights and a 2nd panel for the wireless control.

Smoking Hot Tub!
I got the Norse Steam SaunaLife wood-fired hot tub, the S4N model, and its been seriously great. It heats up quicker than I expected, usually around an hour and a half, and once its hot, it stays that way for a good long while. The wood-fired system is simple to use, and honestly kind of fun.
The tub itself feels solid and well put together. The thermo-spruce exterior looks beautiful in person, and the fiberglass interior is smooth, deep, and easy to clean. Its the kind of setup that just works without a bunch of fuss, which I really appreciate.
Also, the team at Norse Steam was genuinely great to work with. Super helpful, quick to respond, and made the process really easy from start to finish. It felt like they actually cared that I was happy with it. The tub has totally become a go-to way to unwind, and I wouldnt change a thing.

Great Experience
After a lot of research I made a decision to go with a Sauna from Golden Designs. It has only been in place for a week but so far two thumbs up. Great sauna and great customer service
We purchased the Finnmark SD-1 sauna. Maya was extremely helpful with the purchase. We had an issue with the sauna not reaching the maximum temperature, and Maya connected us with the appropriate technician that explained how to correct the issue. The sauna now heats to the maximum temperature (170 degrees) in less than an hour, and it is a great unit. We are very happy with it, and we would definitely purchase from NorseSteam if we needed any other items.
