FAQ
How is a propane sauna heater different from electric or wood?
The SaunaLife TITAN SL1 is a floor standing propane heater that needs no wiring, electrician, or chimney and leaves no ash. It connects to a standard 20 pound propane tank using the included 6 foot hose and regulator, with high and low settings and a dial to adjust the heat. You carry and refill the tank.
How long does a 20 pound propane tank last?
A 20 pound tank gives 15 to 25 hours of sauna use. How long it lasts depends on the heat setting and room size.
How fast does it heat, and what size sauna can it run?
It reaches sauna temperature in under 30 minutes and heats rooms of 140 to 350 cubic feet, or up to 425 cubic feet if insulated. It is made to travel with the SaunaTrekker sauna tents, and the four person SaunaLife SaunaTrekker is about 220 cubic feet.
Is it safe to run a gas heater inside a sauna or tent?
Yes, when used as directed in the Manual tab, with a fixed open intake of 52 square inches and a fixed open exhaust of 39 square inches to the outdoors. For tent use, it is approved only with the SaunaTrekker and SaunaTrekker XL, which have these vents built in, and you must keep 6 inches from the stone cage to combustible materials such as wood, or 4 inches with the heat shield. The gas shuts off if the heater tips, the oxygen sensor reads low, or the 60 minute timer runs out.
Does it come with stones?
No, stones are sold separately, and the basket holds 44 pounds of 1 to 2 inch stones. The SaunaLife 33 pound box of rounded olivine diabase stones is an add on on this page. Buy two boxes to have enough to fill the basket.
Can I throw water on it for steam?
Yes, you can pour water on the stones in the 44 pound basket for steam. The optional water tank on this page sits on the heater and provides steady steam plus 1.3 gallons of hot rinse water.
What comes in the box?
The box includes the heater with its stone basket, radiant heat chamber, and base, plus a 6 foot hose with regulator. You also get gloves, one alder heater guard, and the installation and operation manual.
